The end of a decade

Miss Stacy told me long ago that by the time I was twenty my character would be formed, for good or evil. I don't feel that it's what it should be. It's full of flaws."

"So's everybody's," said Aunt Jamesina cheerfully. "Mine's cracked in a hundred places. Your Miss Stacy likely meant that when you are twenty your character would have got its permanent bent in one direction or 'tother, and would go on developing in that line. Don't worry over it, Anne. Do your duty by God and your neighbor and yourself, and have a good time. That's my philosophy and it's always worked pretty well.”

                                                                                                                                        -Anne of the Island

It now seems a funny thing to think that my character would be fully formed by the time I was 20. Nevertheless, when I was first read Anne of the Island at around age 9, I was certain that I would be fully ‘adult’ by the time I was 20. Oh how the turn tables;)

I can’t say that I am infinitely more wise now, I can’t even say I’m less childish (in fact I scheduled a Nerf gun/hide and seek game for when my friends are all in town again) However, I can say that I am taking ‘Aunt Jamsina’s’ advice to heart- and will strive to do my duty to God, neighbor, and self, and hopefully will have a good time doing it.

Now that I executed that flawless transition of a“good time”, I can now share about all the hustle and bustle that happened the last few weeks.

It’s amazing how fast 1 week can go. I picked up Avrie and Kaitlyn on a Tuesday, and our week was full of campfires, canoeing, photoshoots (ft. lots of cornfields), and of course food! They say a picture is worth a thousand words, so on that note I won’t describe our week in much detail, rather I will just show pictures. However, I can say that the weeks’ memories will last a lifetime.

As far as work- I have been so busy! I started yet another internship (with RCF in Egham), in which I am handling the social media, and helping them adapt to church online. It’s now 3 internships in which I help run social media, and I can’t help but question where that BA in Anthropology specializing in Roman History fits in. Hopefully in the near-ish future I can return to analyzing gory Roman battles and depicting the picts.

On another note- Cam’s surgery was successful in the fact that they replaced his defibrillator. However, while it was supposed to be routine, he now has hematoma. So it’s constant icing and standing appointments in South Bend on Monday’s until the swelling clears up. It looks pretty terrible- and while it is uncomfortable its not unbearable pain thankfully!

Well, another decade has been closed (that is awfully fun to write, I feel very dramatic), and another post coming to a close. I hope this next decade I can do my duty to God, neighbor, and self, and also enjoy life:)

Per usual here are some pictures,

Cheers!

(Campfire fun!)

(Marc and Nic made me an Oxford/New College

cornfield set! Complete with American flag bags, so I won't

forget my roots;))
