Solitude without dreams has few charms

Anne felt that life partook of the nature of an anticlimax during the first few weeks after her return to Green Gables. She missed the merry comradeship of Patty’s Place. She had dreamed some brilliant dreams during the past winter and now they lay in the dust around her. In her present mood of self-disgust, she could not immediately begin dreaming again. And she discovered that, while solitude with dreams is glorious, solitude without them has few charms.

19,754 words later and a hefty stack of all my papers that I wrote, and I have finished up all classes for Oxford. I also would like to highly recommend a specific book I mentioned in my previous post that was part of my worldview course. The Madness of Crowds, by Douglas Murray, while not a very pretty book is one definitely worth reading! It can get quite graphic at times, however the vernacular that he employs specifically challenging "identity politics" is logical, insightful, as well as compelling at times. In fact, while I did enjoy all my books for worldview, I told my tutor that this was my favorite book we read.

I am now waiting to receive my transcript from Oxford- I’m not sure what grades I will receive for my 2 main Oxford courses, however, I do know for my world view class I got an A! That being said, have you ever felt after an accomplishment you peaked? That you have reached your full potential? If so, that is exactly how I have been feeling. It’s been extremely hard to know what to do with my days now, let alone what to the future holds.

I am currently trying to keep in touch with friends in the UK, network, and pray that God shows me a job that I should go after. In between the sometimes painful adult responsibilities that life consists of– I have been listening to a lot of audio books, playing video games, and finally seeing my friends!

This past Monday was the first time I have gotten to see my best friends since New Years, and it was so fun! We all got together and celebrated May the 4th, better known as Star Wars day, in style. Also you may observe much like my now former flatmate Avrie,They look like they were forced to get in the picture and you were the mom that insisted you needed to document the event 😂” Which I would like to note, was an accurate description of the events preceding said photo!
This is a fairly short post today. Like most people life has turned quite mundane. Especially in comparison to the hustle and bustle that Oxford seemed to breed. Nevertheless, with things reopening I am hoping to dust of some of my dreams that I dreamed this past winter, and find motivation and purpose for my next step in life.

As always, here are couple pictures, and yes, I did make Star Wars themed cupcakes:)
Cheers!

(Stormtrooper cupcakes! They tasted pretty good!)
 (My documentation of said event.
Also social distancing is very hard to
do when trying to take a picture!)
