Homemaking fun, without the bother of a husband!
How those girls enjoyed putting their nest in order! As Phil said, it was almost as good as getting married. You had all the fun of homemaking without the bother of a husband. -Anne of the Island
Two posts in the same week! Who knows how long I'll be able to keep that up, however yesterday
was a busy day as we moved into our flat for the first time. Which
upon doing this we discovered that: 1. It smelled like a smoker had
lived there previously, which required a good airing out. This
brought us upon problem number 2. We found out our boiler didn’t
work, resulting in us not having any heat. As you may have guessed
from the fact that I am writing this- I (we) did survive! Though just
barely according to my 2 Texan roommates😋There are 4 of us including me in case anyone was curious- Kaitlyn, Avrie, Brielle, and me.
Today
we had a long and full day of orientation- we had 2 speakers
1.Introduction
to the Oxford Academic System by Mr Mark Almond, Affiliated Faculty
Member, History Faculty, University of Oxford; former lecturer in
Modern History, Oriel College, University of Oxford, author of many
books.
2.
The Oxford Essay and Tutorial. Dr. Tudor Jones, Tutor in Politics,
Mansfield College, Oxford University. Senior Lecturer in Politics,
Coventry University.
We
then had lunch with our teacher for Worldviews (Kevin) at the George
Street Social! Followed at 3pm by a walking tour of Oxford. All in
all it was a very busy day, however tomorrow should be even busier as
we will have 12 hours in London!
Also
to those who were wondering- here are some pictures of my apartment:
(My Street)
(Kitchen)
(Living room ft. Avrie and Brielle)
(Dining table, ft. my goofy roommate Kaitlyn)
(Why buy coasters when you can use
cardboard that was between your blankets?
Avrie's brilliant idea, saving us 8£!)
(Upstairs bathroom, Avery has a
small one in her room downstairs
as well)
(The door to my room which is upstairs)
(My Bedroom)
(Also my bedroom)
