“When
I left Queen’s my future seemed to stretch out before me like a
straight road. I thought I could see along it for many a milestone.
Now there is a bend in it. I don’t know what lies around the bend,
but I’m going to believe that the best does.”
-Anne of Green Gables
It’s official! I got my Hogwarts letter;)
After about a 30 page application, and in-person interview, and lots
of praying- I am ecstatic, grateful, scared, and proud to share that
I will be studying abroad at Oxford through the Oxford Study Center
during their Hilary term of 2020.
Throughout my short years (pun intended) I have had an overall
realization- God calls us to great things, and he has a purpose for
all of our lives. In His love and grace, He is pushing me out of my
comfort zone and into a land where there are dreaming spires,
legacies of great men and women, and the unknown.
Change absolutely terrifies me, and this opportunity brings about a
lot of change. Not to mention how hard it is to consider leaving home
with all that is happening medically with my brother. However, I am
putting my confidence in Him, because He has never failed me yet, and
He is worthy of my praise.
Like Anne, I always imagined my future to stretch out straight in
front of me, with no hills, bumps, or detours. Yet, I’ve quickly
realized that while that may be my plan, God’s plan (which is
infinitely better) sometimes takes a detour, or completely changes
directions. I also do not know what lies around the bend, but I’m
going to believe the best does.
